West Ham Chairman, David Gold has been quick to answer critics disappointed that the Juventus friendly will no longer be the first game at the Olympic Stadium.
Gold speaking on twitter said “We made clear that the date for the opening fixture might change dependent on our qualification for Europe. dg”
When one supporter suggested many fans will return tickets for the Juvnetus friendly but Gold replied: “I would be surprised if a supporter of West Ham would want to return his ticket for the game against Juventus. dg”
One Hammers fan called Paul Turner messaged Gold to say: “Hearing we can’t play out first games at “home” because it will still be in athletics mode..If only we owned our own ground.”
Gold quickly responded “Paul there are very few clubs that own their own grounds most are owned by there banks. dg”
Paul responded “David my house still has a mortgage on it .. But the bank doesn’t tell me when I can use the house ..” for which Gold replied: “True but if you don’t make the payments they will. dg”
Thankfully the vast majority of our fans recognise and value messrs Gold & Sullivan and all they have done for the club to date . We are moving in the right direction and a lot faster than most of us imagined that we would . Exciting times ahead for the club , feel sorry for fans like Stinger , if they can’t enjoy these times then i’m not sure what would make them happy ? Funny old world !
No Morgage Lads they can play at my Gaff,
No a very big ground, not a big capacity, but the beers cheap the foods great, lots of single ladies,
Just draw Villarreal its 30 minutes away,
Leave the Daves alone or we could end up with some Yank who only wants to make money and rip the fans off,
Bet Villa fans would have liked the 2 Daves,Or Cardiff then we could have had a nice red Kit
They may have sold OUR HOME but how would people feel when we were still stuck in an ageing ground with a 35k capacity while Chelski,The Spuds & in time perhaps even Palace move into 60k + stadiums. Then fans would be grumbling we stood still while others moved onwards & upwards. You can’t please all the people all of the time unfortunately.Never have, never will.I didnt want to leave UP buts it’s happened, end of story.
The best owners we have EVER had.. I’m so excited about the future and really looking forward to the new stadium & the success the David’s will bring our club
Sorry Ray, I have so many reasons to not like them or trust then. More so Gold than Sullivan.
Having Met them both as well. Just do not like them and I will never forgive them for moving us from our Home to one that will never truly be ours or come close to feeling like ours.
Because of the way they have gone about things as well, myself and others I know of have had to give up going. Not because We want to but because we have been forced to. I have been a season ticket holder for 25 years. But because of their daft deposit stipulations I had no chance of going next season.
Just one of many reasons why I do not like our owners. But the last really grates as they have taken away from me something I hold very dear. But having spoken to Gold he response was . “Oh well, there will always be someone else to take your place” Great way to treat long serving loyal fans. NOT!!!!!!
Thankfully I support the club which means I don’t have to support them.
Christ the day this bloody fool David Gold leaves our club cannot come soon enough. Every time he opens his stupid mouth he makes himself look more and more like the idiotic fool he is.
For the record, not every West Ham fan is still happy about moving from OUR HOME to a rented Bowl which will never ever be ours and never feel like our home.
Not that Gold actually cares what West Ham fans think. Money, Money, Money, is all he cares about.
(Cue abuse and insults because some of us still do not like, trust or want the David’s here)
a bit harsh there Stinger where would we all be now if it wasn’t for these 2 ????? we could of had the other guy and look what happened to QPR football is a business whether we like it or not it has been for a very long time. ok i,m with you on our move to the OS but i,m afraid this was going to happen no matter who wants it or not. as far as i,m concerned we should have walked away a long time ago with all the court cases and bad media plus all the other crap thats gone on but thats just my opinion but in no way would i blame the 2 daves for this. they as far as i can see have been more outgoing than any directors of any football club
Some people are never happy. We qualify for europe & this idiot moans because a friendly wont now be the 1st match at OS instead it will be a EL qualifier. How dare the club do this… maybe we should turn the chance of european football down to make sure Paul will be happy…
