Hammers linked with Colombian striker

|

CarlosAccording to Mercato 365, AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca has been added to West Ham’s  extended list of striker transfer targets this summer.

He’s scored 17 times in the league this season and added two assists but could be allowed to leave AC Milan in the summer and is valued at 30 million Euros (£23m).  According to WhoScored.com, he’s scored those goals despite managing only 1.9 shots per game.  Squawka.com clocks his shooting accuracy at an excellent 67 percent—and it was as high as 70 percent in late February.

The Colombia striker has been disappointed with the club’s Italian’s ability to compete for a Champions League place. The 29 year old has attracted interested from Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United as well as a host of European sides.

Bacca has smashed 20 goals for AC Milan this season in all competitions having arrived from Sevilla last summer, and that’s now 97 league goals in the last four seasons, across spells with Belgian side Club Brugge, La Liga’s Sevilla and now AC Milan.

I still have concerns over too much focus on a top? Striker. Slav created a team that could produce goals from anywhere and in spite of having three strikers not contributing much we still found the goals. It was lapses late in games that hurt us more than lack of scoring and I fear that if we pay top money for one, our goal production from the midfield will merely become the striker’s tally and overall the goal count will not change that much

We created a lot of chances last season that the strikers didn’t finish and too often the strikers that we do have were not in the box to finish chances in the first place Canchaz, not criticising their effort levels just their lack of finishing, Antonio was probably more clinical and in the right places more often than Carroll, Sakho or Valencia so hopefully we will address that in the window.

Not sure,if he was that good Matte would have spent the money,at 29 you might as well chase Vardy for the money,
€40 million for the lad from Marseille sounds like a better deal at his age,but you can get Bony and Torre for that,
I would take Bony at £20 million now why he is there for the taking then see where we go with Valencia,Sakho and Valencia, plus if AC is going or not,
Wilson is still my first choice,Then Dehenney,( Watford ) Barahino ( WBA ) Bony

lol..I agree bubs, I’m not saying WHU have to buy him, I’m just saying he’s a good player (maybe the best player of AC Milan right now), but if I was the owners I would buy another player with that money, a player younger than Bacca. 😉
Teddy, Wetties are waiting for periods of sales, buy three players and get one free… and a free ride on the ferris wheel for everyone…haha

I popped on there about 15 mins ago Matte to see what wisdom was being spread.I saw what Teddy was on about. Some geezer who reckons Lacazette is overrated but might be an OK signing for 10m haha.Yeah if you say so mate.Better tell all the major European teams who are chasing him their 35-40m will be wasted because he is only worth 10m 😉

        • mattefumi27 says:

hahahha… 10 mil. for Lacazette? That’s impossible Rads, you must have misunderstood… I’m sure they were talking about Horace Lacazette, the granddaddy of Alexandre… lol 😀

          • Radai Lama says:

Hahahaha,oh yeah could have been Matte. But he was never as good as his twin bros Hector IMO,he was worth 20m for sure 🙂

          • mattefumi27 says:

hahahaha… Hector or Horace, but that’s another pearl of wisdom of the experts… I’m sure I’ll sleep peacefully this night… 🙂

Deeney would definitely be a good shout Bub’s, Bony isn’t bad but they play slightly deeper and are target men, in addition to them would like someone like a Bacca or a Vardy that can play off the shoulder of the defenders and will run in behind and score us hopefully 20 or more goals a season, like Defoe / Bellamy used to do for us, Cottee way back when and of course Carlos did although he was much more than just that. Obviously both Vardy and Bacca are 29 so the Daves would need to think on that as there is little chance of making the transfer fees back. I wonder if that Zaza would leave Juve he could be an option even though he has barely played this season.

  • Radai Lama says:

Yeah I remember him scoring a bundle of goals for Sevilla,he looked the business.Probably why Milan spent about 22/23m on him.Im sure it was round about that amount last year.I expect that is why they would want a similar fee for him now,if the story is even true.It is a lot for a 29yr old though 😉

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Good player remember watching him for Sevilla and the clips show he does all the things good strikers do well, way to much money for a 29 year old with no realistic sell on chances, probably £15m sign him on a 4 year contract if of course AC would let him go.

  • RickHammer says:

You know what they say about a little knowledge being dangerous Stan…Its incredible how much fans think they know in reality after they have played FIFA 16 for a couple of hours .

  • EastStandTeddy says:

It seems a lot of wedge for a 29 year old,but it isnt my money so I won’t let fees for players be of my concern. If the club want to pay 50million for a player good luck to them.It would appear on you boys favourite site they have written off Lacazette on the word of one of the wise monkeys so he is off the list.

  • Radai Lama says:

I knew when I saw the headline that Matte would have already been on here delivering a report.I hope your assessment is good,if not in a year’s time I will come back to tell you that yesterday you said you liked Bielsa.Thats if Sleepswithdirtydishes doesn’t remind you first on the 23rd May 2017 haha

    • mattefumi27 says:

hahah… yes Rads, it’s just a lot of responsibility… I choose my words very carefully, I’m always extremely vague, I fear of retribution: horses’ heads, bullets inside my mailbox, etc. 😀

  • Gobby says:

So he isn’t worth £23 mill then Italian Ambassador? Lol I watched him in the Coppa Italia yesterday actually.Milan are a shadow of the side they used to be,in the past nearly every one of their players was a world name in football, these days not so much so lol

    • mattefumi27 says:

hahha… I know Gobby, it was really nice of you to say “Milan are shadow of the side they used to be”… “Crappy team” is the word… lol 😀

      • Gobby says:

Ha,yes I was try to be polite.I know how much it must hurt to remember how they used to be & what they are now. They will bounce back again though I expect.Well maybe one day lol

  • StanThe Man says:

This is one for Matte isn’t it.Milan is his hometown club it would seem.Whats he like Matt?

    • mattefumi27 says:

haha… I know Stan, I’m the Italian ambassador… all I can say is that Bacca is a good player, one of the few Milan players I like… he’s strong and I think he could play well in PL… I have doubts as to his age… However, I leave it to the wisdom of the experts… lol 😀

  • Hammerfish69 says:

£23m for a 29 year old??? Not sure about that!
