Good Rice news for Hammers tonight

|

West Ham fans will have breathed a huge sigh of relief as Gareth Southgate announced an England team for the game against Andorra tonight which failed to include Declan Rice.

With the match kicking off in a few minutes Declan was named only as one of 12 subs for a match which looks nailed on for a Three Lions victory.

It’s great news as whoever the opposition happen to be there’s always that injury danger as was the case last season which led to the 22year old being sidelined with injury for us over five weeks.

It was clearly the right thing to do as the manager announced the team, which bore no relation to his first team and included Jesse Lingard and one time Hammers summer target Tammy Abraham.

There may even be a case for leaving Declan out of next weeks game against Hungary too as that is a team which hasn’t beaten England in 49 years.
