Haller finds his feet in Holland

|

Sebastian Haller scored his debut goal  and made a second assist for Ajax last night

The former Hammer got off the mark for Erik ten Hag’s team with the opening goal at De Grolsch Veste on Thursday evening. The Ivory coast striker scored a goal and provided an assist as Ajax defeated FC Twente 3-1 in an Eredivisie match.

The 26-year-old returned to the Netherlands last week to join the ‘Sons of the Gods’ from West Ham on a four-and-a-half-year contract costing the Dutch side £20.2m paid over four years.

He made his Ajax debut in a 2-2 draw against PSV on Sunday, having one goal ruled offside by VAR and providing an assist for the equaliser in the final minutes of the game.

We have to remember that the Dutch Eredivisie is nowhere near the level of the Premier League as was proved by former Spurs striker Vincent Jansen who struggled in the Premier League with just two gaols but scores for fun in Holland.

He has scored 56 goals from 103 appearances since moving to the Netherlands.
