Haller searches for the form fix

|

Haller – crying out for more support

Like the rest of them, Sebastian Haller has not been anything like the player who started life with  the club back in August of late.

Four goals and several very good performances had us all thinking our striker woes were behind us and at last we had found  a guy who could find the net regularly.

But it’s not worked out that way at all over recent games as he and the team have slumped into what is clearly seriously unacceptable form.

At times, there is little to be said or done although the need for somebody to say something of quality is required although not always possible.

Sadly, that the case again today with Haller unable to offer much other than a ” we must sort it out” statement as Chelsea beckons frighteningly on Saturday’s horizon.

Any sort of result in our present condition would bring a resurgence of confidence to the squad and hopefully Michail Antonio – outstanding on Saturday against Spurs – will start thus taking pressure off the Frenchman.

Haller – speaking at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2019/november/25-november/haller-well-stick-together-find-solution said: “We needed to have a reaction and we were playing at home, so of course we had to give a good reaction but unfortunately it came from too far [behind].

“We had to score three goals, and it’s not always easy to do that.

“It’s about small details, I think [our form is] something we need to fix between us, between the players and between the staff. The only thing we can do is stick together to find the solution and go forward.”

I wish the whole lot of them would just shut the F… up and start doing it on the pitch.Talk is cheap and stats do not lie. They are the laziest team in the premiership as far as yards covered goes. Its that simple .Start bloody playing and showing some effort. If you were in any other job most of you would be on a final warning and close to the sack along with the manager.

Mark Noble’s comments on the Match of the Day seem to suggest that there were issues on the training pitch. I have not seen or heard him so pessimistic. He was down and it was not just losing to the Spurs.

    Any thoughts

One area that Seb should work at is closing down the opposition when we lose the ball. Too often Seb and Yarmo are walking back in the centre circle – just close down and give the defence chance to reset. COYI

He’s either not that good as everyone was saying or Pelligrini has destroyed him as a striker .
He must be good given his record in the Bundersliga , but our manager despite sighning him for megga bucks has refused to use him in the system where he was scoring Goals . Don’t tell me that the Premiership is the best league in Europe when Germany have won so many cups it makes your head spin . Pelligrini is a waste of time and space and needs to leave Now . Should have been reading this morning that he has gone ,,, but no . Ffs .
Bring back Moyes or go for Benitez ,,, but please do something . We all know that Chelsea will humiliate us more next game . If we couldn’t wake up at home to Spurs then we stand no chance against a full march ahead by The Pensioners. He should be gone already .

And please , Hugh , don’t get me confused with the other Kevin . It’s not good to have two people with the same name . Check the registration dates , please .

  • master says:

He could try running a bit more, harassing the central defenders more rather than dropping deep, and getting himself knackered by 75 mins.

Coaching is necessary though and our manager doesn’t do that.

  • Kevin says:

Somebody is using my name . Therefore I will change mine . But it’s hard work to do it and I don’t know how to .

We’re all searching for a fix , it’s a shame as I do think Haller has quality and he needs more support . Roberto should not be anywhere the first team and all of them need to up the work rate . It’s the manner of the defeats that’s worrying and all at West Ham need to take responsibility Players , board , manager all staff . Just step up and fight show the passion and just bloody help each other , no point in half a team playing you all need to be on it.

  • Plaistow Pundit says:

    Haller’s form fix is Antonio!
Antonio can get close to Haller , therefore if the rest of the team punt the ball up to that general area we add a primitive but useful tactic. This started to happen in the last quarter of the Spuds match.
Not big club football but neither is going 3 nil down.
Anderson must start crossing the ball or actually shooting on target.
Burnley cross the ball ASAP and it has got them higher than us in the league.
The manager must adjust his high handed principles or he is toast.
Yes this all seems like David Moyes will be back, but at least he will have some better players to employ these tactics with.

I keep checking the whu sites and forums every 30mins,hoping for news of Pelle being fired.Whats taking our owners so long ? Use our under 23 coach until we find the perfect fit and please don’t just hire anyone who’s available right now, cos they are all sh*t too, except for Poch.

  • Golfeater says:

Why not ditch Pellegrini and hire Pocherinno.
