Bowen worth £60m
Michail Antonio believes that Jarrod Bowen is worth £60 million.
He was talking on the BBC Footballers Football Podcast with Newcastle United man Callum Wilson about the insane money in the game after Chelsea’s latest splurge on Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.
Antonio said: “If you’re a half-decent player, you’re going for £50 or £60 million. Jarrod Bowen, I couldn’t put a price on that. He’s English, scores goals for fun. If he’s going it’s got to be £60 million.”
Bowen has been a revelation since arriving from Hull in 2020. He scored the memorable winner in the Europa Conference League final and chipped in with six goals and six assists last campaign. He also scored a peach of a goal against Bournemouth last week.
David Moyes has said in the meanwhile that Jarrod is becoming our major goal scorer and there has been .a lot of talk about needing to buy a centre-forward. However he is going to see if Jarrod could do the job.
He added: “He’s got the instincts and the sharpness. Hull played him at centre-forward so it’s not me trying to be a genius.”
It is slightly worrying that Spurs and Newcastle are eyeing him up, but he appears to be happy at the Hammers at the moment.
£60M? I agree. And the rest. In todays market. £90M +
He’s worth a lot more than that to our club. He scores goals, his crosses result in goals, he defends very well and he works his socks off. Jarrod Bowen is priceless!
and the rest
