Hammer joins Watford in permanent deal

|

Watford have submitted a deal sheet just before 5 pm to sign Domingos Quina from West Ham in a permanent transfer in the last piece of transfer deadline day business. The Hornets have until 7pm to get the player registered and remaining paperwork processed with the FA and Premier League for the deal to be finalised.

The Hammers have pocketed a £1m fee plus significant add-ons after 25 Premier League starts and retain a 10% sell on clause.

The young hammer could have left the Hammers on a free transfer next Summer so West Ham have decided to cash in early after the youngster and his agent refused to sign a new contract committing his future to West Ham.  Early this Summer he was linked to move to Barcelona for £650,000 but no bid materialised

Any more last minute permanent outs?

Another star of the future leaves. I just compared our squad to Everton’s, Fulham’s and Wolves’s there is no comparison in quality. We are so far behind these squads. I believe the premier league is going to be harder this year. I fear we are in for another difficult season based on the squad the manager has put together. We have no spine to the team. Everton for example have so much creative players like sigurdson, Bernard, and now Gomes. We have no player who can play to that level as a 10. I believe the manager believes this player is Wilshere – if so he is going to turn us into the laughing stock of the PL.

I’m massively disappointed. Surely the club could’ve handled it differently months ago?

  • razor says:

So we sell him for 1mill and some sell on cash to Watford but keep a snail like 31year old Snodgrass goes that sound good business yo someone losing nine million

  • master says:

who cares, he’s far far too lightweight for this league and was never going to make it. agent is a … too so we’re better off without.

  • hammers312 says:

Give it a rest johnham… and please explain to me how Fulham have a better squad than us??

  • whufcfan says:

hammers312, he can’t give it a rest, he’s the glass half empty sort, likes to have a moan at any opportunity!

  • Hammerkip says:

I agree with master and 312 ..to light weight for the prem but it’s strange he won’t sign a contract with us but he will for Watford I could understand if it was Barcelona but Watford…😂😂😂😂 and jonham you really are ful! oF it… try smi!ing every now and then you always sound like you lost a fiver and found a quid😂😂

He never showed any world class talent when I watched him, he looked lost at PL pace, he may well find his feet at Watford. technically he is of a good level but like Fernandes what is the output … close to zero unfortunately, good luck to him he was one of those that earned considerably more than Rice off the wage bill.

  • aykay says:

Its a shame but hes a kid and his agent has convinced him that money is the priority otherwise why else would he go to watford?… hes left at a time when if he was ever to have kicked on it would have been now under a world class manager who would have used him to his strengths and improved him … its done now only time will tell how much of a mistake it was for us to have not secured his future

Showing my age now but I remember a certain Johnny Ayris who I believe debuted at the age of 17. He had all the ball skills and speed but unfortunately came up against Chopper Harris. Never really recovered. There is more protection nowadays but I do think Quina like Ayris is a bit lightweight, time will tell but I hope we haven’t made a mistake, however I wish him well. On a lighter note “no pun intended” johnham1 is Richard Keyes or Adrian Durham. Enjoy the season Guys. Glass half full pour moi

Johnham1 I’ve never ever seen a positive post from you. Have a look mate we possibly have one of the best buys of the window in Anderson, Yarmolenko has proven quality, Arnie is only gonna get better and better and I believe Fredericks is gonna be the surprise package of the season.

As for Quina, always looked lost in our 1st team on the few occasions he played. Too lightweight for Orem and by the looks of things has let a few good write ups go to his head same as Oxford. If they were both so world class why have rice, Cullen etc got in and they haven’t?

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Holland is the player that makes the u23’s tick, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him regularly on our bench this season and getting some minutes, playing with the likes of Wilshere, Yarmolenko and Anderson should give him a bar to reach and I hope he does, he is a player with sublime skill but that works hard and will try and grab a game by the scruff of the neck, Quina is just a show pony.

  • Clive says:

obviously he will stand a much better chance of breaking through into the first team at a club like Watford but smacks of agent interference to me. Some of these agents are just selling their clients to the highest bidder at the drop of a hat trying to make money from them while they can. Quinn’s stock is high due to his appearances for Portugal recently. It’s just a case of the agent striking while the iron is hot to the detriment of the player. Kids already had more clubs than hot dinners. Probably all go to his head and he’ll end up another wasted talent like ravel Morrison.

what the hell is wrong with you people?? yes i am a keyboard warrior of now (but watched my west ham for so many years) but do not have a choice in that now. be pleased in the fact that (west ham united) yes UNITED is what we stand for.
I don,t care for the decent you guys are coming out with because you know better than a proven MANAGER let this guy do his job and then come out with you know better after at leased 2 seasons ffs. THIS GUY IS THE REAL DEAL so let him do his job and then slag him off if he has not done it after that. Sir Trev as i have said before the guy needs to have time and prove himself. i believe we will not have a good start but will come good before the second half of the season but will build on what we have started. so think on you miss believers. this manager will be the start of good things to come. perhaps just not right away i am used to waiting as most real West Ham FANS are used to

      You done? Good…
      Firstly, speak English man.
Secondly, what the hell are you going on about?
Thirdly, Opinions are like bums, everyone’s got one and the beauty of a free forum, is that we are free to express those opinions.
I’m pretty sure that everyone on here is more than aware that the manager is new and will need time to settle in.

  • This is all down the agent, one Mr Adey Ward who has quite a reputation in the football industry.

Remember he moved him from Chelsea youth to us in the first place a few years ago. He is also the agent for Reece Oxford and Berahino. Anyone see a pattern?
