Hammers aim to hurry up new Soucek deal

West Ham are ready to start new talks with Tomas Soucek’s agents aimed at convincing the player to sign a new four year deal at the club.

The last round of talks with the midfielder’s agents International Sport Management broke up with no agreement but promises they would start again in the summer.

However, it’s a deal that the Irons want to tie up as quickly as possible and hope to get an agreement – at least in principle – before the end of the season.

Having arrived from the smaller Czech league on loan before agreeing a permanent deal the defensive midfielder is now understood to be looking for a deal  of around £80k a week with the Irons having made it clear he would be offered an improved deal if he proves himself at the club on his arrival.

We understand the offer at the last round of talks was short of that but that the club are keen to get the new contract across the line quickly given he is out of contract in 2024.

The player is valued at £40,5 million at https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tomas-soucek/profil/spieler/283628. and has no option attached to his current deal.
