Hammers back in but be wary of price tag

|

Rumour raterWest Ham continue to be linked with a huge number of strikers and Slaven Bilic can’t wait to get his chosen front man on board.

The biggest rumour of the ast 24 hours – reported here and elsewhere – is that Alexandre Lacazette is at the centre of another Hammers offer.

And it was confirmed to us by a top Hammers souce today that we are still chasing the France international currently playing his football at Lyon.

However, a reported figure of £37 million should not be taken overly seriously as David Sullivan is not a man to slap £5million on  previous offer – at a stroke.

The last offer was £32 million and we understand  the  negotiations will move forward at around £1 million a time given we are the only club publicly in the frame at the moment.

We were told: “David is a man who simply refuses to give up once the bit is between his teeth and we are determined to get the very best we can.”

Bilic meanwhile in his Daily Mail column today says: “Finally, hats off to the West Ham board for signing Sofiane Feghouli on a free transfer from Valencia!

We are proud and glad that he and Havard Nordtveit, the captain of Borussia Monchengladbach, have signed for us because other big clubs were trying for them.

Everyone knows we want a top-class striker. And if we can get a 20-goals-a-season man, there’s no reason why we can’t improve on last season and challenge the Premier League’s top teams.”

Rumour ratng 8/10

Will he, wont he, cost too much, want to make sure Payet still feels top dog so wont sign him (really ??) Gone back with an improved offer, no we haven’t.
another lazy journo has also gone back to Reece Oxford, the barcodes want to sign him this time. Good idea, turn all the top clubs down & then sign for a championship club…
Don’t you just love the yearly summer silly season. I read somewhere that CC could come back after celtic let him go. The amount of players we’ve been linked with must by way over 20/30 by now.
no big club in the world are going to buy any player who they had no interest in before the euros after him having two good games, well one good game as all this sillyness started after he scored that fantastic goal in the 1st game. Payet is ours & imo he will stay ours.

Hope why everyone else is messing about fighting over strikers Slav and the Daves can get in a good free RB and a good free CH there are several about,
Then we can clear our decks at the back and put all our time into getting the forwards right,
Ritchie for Enner would give us to great workers one on each side with Antonio,
And 3 with great skill Payet ,Lanzini and our new boy,
The we need 2 top boys up top to join super sub AC,
Sak could be one or replace him,
