West Ham received a small boost for Tuesday night at Old Trafford with the possibility that Paul Pogba may well miss the game. We certainly have our own worries with the Tomas Soucek position and the small doubts that may exist over Mikey Antonio.
David Moyes has plenty to think about and should Soucek be ruled out by the FA appeals procedure the lack of midfield cover will give ammunition to the critics who regularly draw attention to how thin the squad is when there are critical absences.
He may have to consider whether Oggy requires a rest who may not have been at his best yesterday and which could lead him into giving Balbuena alongside Dawson.
However, it’s something of a result for us if Pogba is missing after Man United’s player of the month for January, Paul Pogba, limped off in the 3-3 draw with Everton. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed Pogba will be sent for a scan (ManUnited.com).
There was a chance Pogba may have been rested for the game against West Ham anyway.
We didn’t play well and have to agree most of the players looked tired ..at least we cameaway with a point …its a tough schedule for all the clubs ,certainly dosnt help having thin squad..let’s hope we get lucky with no more injures and get our second wind
I suggested after the Villa game that it was probably an ideal time to rest players for the weekend. As it turned out most of our team looked leggy and for the sake of a point, I can’t see it doing our chances for Tuesday any good what do ever. Just hope I’ve got it completely wrong and we bounce back as we did after we played Liverpool
Perhaps we should switch it around a bit, play a back 5 and use the squad. Playing the same 14 players every 2-3 days is a disaster waiting to happen, and they are visibly tired. As for cover, striker and defensive midfield they cry – well its not just pop to Tesco is it?!! We are safe in the league, hoping for a cup run, morale is high – let’s enjoy it.
