Hammers confirm Arnie’s £200k a week demand

|

West Ham have confirmed that Mark Arnautouvic’s  brother has hit the club with a £200k week pay demand.

The Austrian striker has been in the news all week since his brother Danijel made it clear he could be on his way with Marko apparently saying that he trusted his brother with his best interests.

Now this morning new reports emerged that the player wants another £70k a week on top of his £130k and the club told ClaretandHugh that is the case.

A senior Hammers insider told us in a text earlier this afternoon: “The story is true. Arnautovic’s bother has put in a £200k a week demand which breaks our pay structure.”

Arnautovic has another four and a half years on his deal and the likleihood now is that the player will have to be sold but that won’t be happening in the January window.

The club cannot risk a dressing revolt among its senior players who will all be scrambling for mega rises if they see the club is prepared to break its pay structure on behalf of one player.

It looks more and more likely that Manchester United are ready to launch a bid with Jose Mourinho keen and that could leave Andy Carroll with a  last chance to show he can be the answer up front.

The Hammers will start the bidding at £50m for Arnie who is 30 in April.

Why will he have to be sold if he has 4 and a half years left on his contract?! In 4.5 years he’ll have no sale value anyway your being a drama queen!

    • They have a habit of leaving Payet, etc. Perhaps you believe he will say “OK then no worries.” Drama queen? Don’t be absurd but if it makes you feel better to throw around silly remarks feel free. Oh by the way the abbreviated words you are hunting for are you’re.

If that ovet-weight Man City reject is on a reported £80k, who can blame Arnie?? Still, £200 k is far too much for this club to cough up on any player, so looks like he’ll have to go

Haha! I’d probably buy him for £50k, Hugh. You might want to change that.

It’s widely accepted that Arnie is our best player. So that being the case, shouldnt he be paid the most?

    I think he already is.

Just watching children in need and a loving family struggling to cope with a child with severe cerebral palsy. What Arnie (through his brother) is asking for as a pay rise per week would pay for this family’s needs for a year. It’s an obscene amount of money for a jumped up ball kicker who misses more chances than he scores and mostly looks good because he is playing in an average team. It’s obscene.

He is a very good player but not worth 200k a week, maybe if he scores 30 goals but there is no sign of that, if a big money bid comes in sell him and buy players that will make us a better team like Tottenham did when they sold Bale.

Pure greed . He may our best but he isn’t that good . Wouldn’t like to him leave but £50m is a good days buisness . We definitely shouldn’t pay him 200k / week . We could do without some greedy gang of brothers upsetting the dressing room . Let him go . Would free up some players who are more worthy and don’t make crazy wage demands .
