Celtic manager Brendan Rogers has refused to confirm whether long-term West Ham transfer target Moussa Dembele will stay at the Scottish club after January.
“I can’t say [he will stay in January],” Rodgers told reporters.
“I live in the real world of football and you can say things that make you look silly. Someone might come in with a bid that is an astronomical amount of money for the club and the player and, if the player wants to go, that’s modern football.
“At this stage he is still very much a Celtic player. At this moment in time the squad is still very much intact and we want to add to it over the course of the January window.”
The Hammers have been linked with the French striker for the past two transfer windows but in recent days Brighton has been linked with a £18m bid for the former Fulham frontman and West Ham could be tempted to bid if one of their three strikers leaves the club this winter.
They certainly won’t get £40m for him any more, has had a few injuries and not scoring as often when he plays.
Not worth a penny . Couldn’t cut it in the Prem and is only any good in the substandard Scottish half leagues . Please don’t waste your money West Ham .
The Scotts will want , eventually to Join our Premiership setup . They have a nonsense league with perpetual winner . Daft . They get Hammered at every tournament .
Celtic would get relegated within Thier first season in The Prem .
I think Celtic would adapt as would Rangers but it will never happen, Dembele has a lot of potential I think he has gone off the boil a bit perhaps because of his niggling injuries but he does have pace and movement that if he can transfer to PL levels he would be a good gamble.
