Hammers could sign four by Friday

|

A report in the Daily Mirror transfer update has suggested West Ham could sign four more  players by Friday when the transfer window slams shut.

Including the imminent announcement of 24-year-old Slavia Prague midfielder Tomas Soucek as early as today the report claims the Hammers are hoping to sign at least three more players before Friday’s January transfer deadline day.

They suggest manager  David Moyes could make late loan swoops for Chelsea duo Oliver Giroud and Ross Barkley to test Frank Lampard’s and Chelsea’s resolve.

They also says the Irons will hope to sign a right back but it looks like Spurs defender Kyle Walker-Peters will now choose Southampton over West Ham.  The Hammers also had a bid for RB Salzburg’s right back Rasmus Kristensen rejected yesterday but have made enquires about a number of young right backs across Europe as the clock ticks down to the end of the January Transfer window.

You cannot loan two players from the same PL club!

    • Stan says:

We do this as a club every window, look for old players wanting to regain there youth, can some one tell me why Giroud would be good for the hammers?.

  • Hammer589 says:

Not interested in Giroud. He chose Chelski overus and also said he’d rather stay.there and fight for his place in the first team. That didn’t work out too well so now he wants to try and get his National team place backnwoth us? Nah, Not for me.. I want players who WANT to play for West Ham.

  • The Cat says:

If this is true and it actually happens, I believe that it could be the decisive act which would ensure our Premiership survival and turn our season around.
Too many of our players are battle-scarred and low on confidence to perform at the required level. With a decent number of new players arriving without the bunker mentality, would see a general upturn in confidence and with that performance. I’d bite their hands off for Giroud and Barkley on loan right now!

  • Cowhead13 says:

I am puzzled by the intention of signing a young right back. With Ryan Fredericks and Ben Johnson at the club, albeit injured, surely we have that position covered in the long term. There is no doubt that we need a right back on loan until the end of the season but what message would another permanent signing give to our up and coming players.

    • Paul says:

Fredericks isn’t good enough at PL level. I think we’ve seen that by now. If we get someone decent in I believe he’ll be sold.

  • Tony Pezzolesi says:

So it will be just Randolph and Soucek? Lampard has stated very clearly that Barkley is going nowhere. Giroud will not come to us if Haller is the No.1 striker and he will just sit on the bench like he does at Chelsea. He wants to get into the France Euro 2020 squad so needs to be playing games. RB Salzburg have also told us that Rasmus Kristensen is going nowhere as he only signed a 4 year contract in August. Kyle Walker-Peters is going to Southampton on loan. So, we will NOT be signing four players by Friday will we?

  • Jeff Timms says:

Four players by Friday joke . It takes time to blend into a team . Get rid of the dead wood now and start from the back, blend a few youngsters in rather than buying duff players

  • Billy says:

Usual smoke and mirrors stuff, to fob us off, Walker-Peters despite being London based, prefers Southampton, says it all really, we did try but failed!

  • Lee Dobinson says:

Hammers could sign four by Friday, according to a report in the Daily Mirror, or according to Darren Lewis (or whatever his name is), who is Sullivan’s mate, who works on the Daily Mirror!

  • Markus boy says:

We’ve left this to late why did we not sign required players
which we have known for these positions at the start of the
window why have we left this to two days before the window shuts how on earth is moyes expected to get them up to speed in time before it becomes to late for possible survival baffles me

    • Isaac Hunt says:

Am sorry to admit, but I feel this season we have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory and with the games left, I can’t see where 5, 6 or 7 wins are going to come from to save our season.

  • james says:

Glad peep pole can see though the bull****. We will not sign 4 players before end of window. We will put in 100x poor bids and hope. its how Sullivan works. He has realised we are getting relegated and panicking.

    • Blimey says:

Are they seeing through the Peep pole or peep hole???

No doubt there will be an unexpected signing we just didn’t see coming..

  • Hammerkip says:

I’ve always said the same thing ..how can running around like mad in the final few days of the window rather than getting signings tied up earlier so players can settle or whatever benefit us in any way at all ..I really just don’t get it ..if a player is worth 20 million on the first day of window he is not going to be any different on the last …hoping to get the other side to panic and drop the price at the last min is a stupid game to play especially when we are desperate for players …it really whines me up

  • Hollywood Hammer says:

I think clubs deliberately hold out until the last possible minute to let their players go.It has become a tactic for gaining more money for that player. Its the last chance saloon for some clubs to add some quality to their line up.Especially struggling teams like us, who are desperate for premiership survival. The transfer market has become like a game of poker and its wether we want to pay more than what the player is actually worth.I personally think we paid way too much for Haller and we have a habit of not getting back the resale value on most of our players. But,fingers crossed on the final day of the January transfer window.

  • John Shetcliffe says:

Talk is just cheap smoke & mirrors. Action required NOW for realistic targets to avoid relegation.

  • Trevor says:

Any chance of an new manager and board by Friday?
No goals from open play in the last 4 matches, we need a PAYET or TEVEZ type to keep us up.
Poor manager after poor manager after poor manager………
