Declan Rice deal latest by Hughie Southon

West Ham want Arsenal to pay the £105 million bid they have made for Declan Rice over one year or 18 months rather than the four years being offered by the north London club.

Arsenal have offered a British record transfer fee of £105 million for Declan Rice as talks continue.

Hammers insist on 12 month terms from Arsenal

And our top source at the London Stadium has revealed to us that talks between the two clubs are still continuing as Arsenal bid to ensure that promises made to Team Rice take place.

It seems that David Sullivan is playing the toughest role ever in negotiations as he makes it clear to the Gooners that the cash has to be paid up within a maximum of 18 months and preferably 12.

Sullivan rejects four year payment deal from Arsenal

He is aware that the Hammers current skipper wants Arsenal above Manchester City or any other club and is determined to ensure that if it happens the cash goes into the Hammers bank on HIS terms.

Arsenal now appear to have little option but to concede to his demands if they are to make Rice their massive summer signing.

Our source told us this morning exclusively: “They have offered 100m plus £5m of add ons but the terms of payment are too slow, so we are still negotiating.”
