Hammers double injury boost but “haunting” looms

The Hammers have received a double injury boost with Maxwel Cornet and Kurt Zouma both  spotted in training this week, after being sidelined with a calf and knee injury respectively.

Cornet has not featured for the Hammers since October 1 and Moyes confirmed the 26-year-old was nearing a return after their game against Tottenham last Sunday.

Meanwhile at the City Ground  – the man who got away –  midfielder Jesse Lingard may come back to haunt us after providing an injury update with a post on social media showing him back in training.

The former Manchester United man who made such an impact when on loan to us, has missed out on the squads against Fulham and Man City due to injury.

And his update comes after he returned to the matchday squad against Leeds United, where he was an unused substitute.

Lingard has not made an appearance in the Premier League since a 3-0 defeat against former club Manchester United back in December.

His only appearance this year came as a second half substitute against the same team in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg.

But it now seems that Lingard could be closing in on a return to action ahead of the weekend’s Premier League clash against us. Forest travel to the London Stadium for Saturday’s 3pm kick off, with the Hammers in the relegation zone.
