Hammers eyeing Brazilian star

|

West Ham are discussing a deal for Sao Paulo star Pablo Maia, having already done a deal for Luizao.

The defender joined the club earlier this week.

And it appears that midfielder Maia is now attracting interest from the Premier League.

Brazilian journalist Andre Hernan reports that the Hammers, Southampton, and Fulham are all eyeing a potential swoop for the ace.

The Irons are said to have already made one bid, a loan offer that included an option to buy, but Sao Paulo aren’t willing to countenance such a deal.

Southampton, by comparison, have entered into talks with Maia’s agent, while Fulham made a bid last summer.

It remains to be seen if the Irons are the club to finally get Maia out of Sao Paulo.

Maia is a 20-year-old defensive midfielder, who has already made 61 appearances for the Brazilian club; he is yet to be capped by the Selecao at any level.
