Hammers eyeing deal for Fulham youngster

|

West Ham want to sign Fulham youngster Ollie O’Neill in the summer transfer window, according to a new report from The Athletic.

The Hammers are being linked with a potential swoop to secure the signature of the 19-year-old.

O’Neill has not yet made his debut for the first-team but he plays primarily as a left winger and has been central to their U23 team.

He has played 32 times for the U23s, scoring six goals and registering four assists, while he has scored eight times and laid on 10 assists in 44 games for the U18s.

A Republic of Ireland U21 international, his contract has entered its final year and there is also said to be interest from Spurs in securing his signature.

Fulham would prefer to keep the wide midfielder and are set to offer him a new contract but he has yet to agree terms on a fresh deal.

It remains to be seen if he will commit to new terms, but if he doesn’t, he could be available for a knock-down price.
