Hammers face a real threat

|

By Hughie Southon

West Ham boss David Moyes will need to think very carefully over his team selection for Thursday evening’s Europa Cup clash given the form of opponents TSC Backa Topola.

They are currently leading the Serbian Super League table ahead of Partizan Belgrade and could present a real threat to the Irons in the opening game of the tournament.

They have played seven games for six wins and one draw with Partizan three points behind with a game in hand.

TSC is the second oldest club in Serbia and bizarrely is on its eighth name change since its founding back in 1913.

The club reached  the second qualifying stage of the Europa Cup in 1920/21, it’s first European venture, and will come to the London Stadium in determined fashion.

It could be a much tougher evening that many imagine and Moyes will have some serious selection and tactical issue to work out in the meantime.
