Hammers have been hit serious Jarrod Bowen news

Guardian journalist Jacob Steinberg has learned of the Bowen problem whilst the Paqueta situation was well known following his scan.

talkSPORT are repeating the news declaring that David Moyes has been hit by a huge blow given, too, the rib injury to Konstantinos Mavropanos although that is not to be overly problematical.

Quite how Moyes responds to the Bowen issue in particular remains to be seen but the fact that Danny Ings is being seen as an answer only demonstrates the extent of the problem.

His only other solution may be to play Benrahma through the middle given his failure to produce any sort of end product on the left wing allowing Emerson to fill that role, possibly with Aaron Cresswell behind him, although he too has been out of form on his appearances this season.

The first game where he needs a quick solution will be at Ashton Gate next Tuesday in the third round FA Cup replay against Bristol City.

As things stand this could be the team the manager will choose to put out: Fabianski, Coufal, Zouma, Mavropanos, Cresswell; Alvarez, Soucek, Ward-Prowse, Emerson, Fornals, Ings.
