Hammer is as solid as a rock

|

Brentford fans are raving over loanee Hammer Winston Reid adding he is as solid as a rock in the heart of their defence.

He started in the Brentford Championship game against Sheffield Wednesday, he made 1 key pass, 3 clearances (team-high). 15 aerial duels won (match-high) , 94% aerials won (match-high) with a 83% passing rate. Brentford won 3-0 with the central defender playing a key role and picking up a number of plaudits.

The 32-year-old centre-back had been out on loan at Sporting Kansas City last year but he returned to the London Stadium in December after the MLS side decided not to sign him on a permanent deal.

Reid has found himself well down the pecking order in David Moyes’ side with Craig Dawson, Angelo Ogbonna, Issa Diop and Fabian Balbuena ahead of him. He agreed a  Brentford loan deal until the end of the season with the Hammers subsidising the majority of his wages.

Reid is reported to earn £70,000 per week and has a contract until June 2023.

except WE are paying him a lot of money to play for another club, possibly for 2 more years.

A real feel good story 🙂

A real feel good story, Sean. Its great to wish Reidy well, as he served us so well. Majestic player. Glad he has gone to Brentford and is well received – they are a family club and we have a good relationship, good on all levels. Enjoy it Reidy!!!
