The stats show Hammers jinx teams come no worse than Brentford

We face the most frightening facts possible as the Bees come looking for their sixth win over the Irons since being promoted. Yep we have been defeated by them in the Premier League FIVE times.

Hammers jinx teams come no worse than Brentford: Bees boss Thomas Frank

This is the only club David Moyes has never beaten among the 43 he has faced in the Premier League according to the BBC who have produced stats as scary as it gets from our an Irons point of view.

Our only win over Thomas Frank’s team came at their gaff in the FA Cup third round last season when they fielded a  weakened team but our most recent league victory came in a 4-0 Upton Park fixture 31 years ago.

Worse still, we have now equalled our longest winless streak from the beginning of a calendar year – also eight games in 1922 and 1997 so tomorrow could see a new and seriously unwanted stat go down against us.

West Ham can go nine successive matches with a win for the first time since a run of 11 from March to August 2011 with the only hopeful sign being the Hammers have won their past five Premier League home fixtures played on a Monday.

The BBC stats also show that we can extend a goalless run to four consecutive Premier League matches for the third time, and first since 2006.

Jarrod Bowen – as central striker – has gone seven appearances without a goal and needs one more to equal his best Premier League return of 12 in a season, set in 2021-22.
