Hammers linked to former Chelsea defender

Given the circumstances right now it’s hardly surprising that misplaced reports about players in positions where they are not required by West Ham keep arising.

And once again today we are seeing the Hammers linked to another right back despite currently being well served in that position by Ryan Fredericks, Jeremy Ngakia and the emerging Ben Johnson.

That, however, has not stopped Gazzetta dello Sport claiming that Everton and the Irons  have expressed an interest in Nigerian international and former Chelsea starlet Torino’s Ola Aina,

It’s amazing the number of times the clubs that we are supposedly in competition with either Crystal Palace of Everton for players – on this occasion, the Toffees!

But given that both cash clubs will be well cash-strapped after the current break this is probably another rumour that can be firmly put to bed as far as we are concerned anyway.

Aina spent a decade with Chelsea and was sold to the Italians for £9 millions just ten months ago.
