Hammers lose interest in Maguire

|

West Ham are rapidly losing interest in making any further moves for Manchester United’s out of favour captain Harry Maguire.

The 30 year old former Leicester City central defender is very much a David Moyes favourite and the Hammers have certainly made several inquiries according to our key contact.

Having joined United for £80 million, he is the most expensive British defensive signing but made only eight appearances  for the club last season and has since been stripped of the captaincy.

That was believed to have seen Moyes with a chance of signing a player he has apparently wanted at the club since his problems began at Old Trafford and follows Declan Rice‘s switch to Arsenal.

However, when asked directly out source made it clear that Maguire has no interest in joining West Ham and that the club would not be pursuing their interest.

He said: “He is unready to take a pay cut and is not keen to leave Manchester United for West Ham at this stage of his career.”
