Hammers lose out on Kante

|

Kante

Leicester City have beaten West Ham to complete the signing of  Caen midfielder N’Golo Kante, according to L’equipe. The Foxes  are said to have agreed a £6m fee after Kante passed a medical in Leicester yesterday.

Kante made 37 appearances for the French top-flight side last season, scoring two goals. The signing is expected to be officially announced within the next 48 hours. It will be new manager Claudio Ranieri’s first signing for the club.

Just 4 days ago French media claimed that West Ham had an agreement in principle with Kanté’s representatives about a possible deal. The player was proposed to West Ham by Mark McKay but its is claimed the Hammers saw him as an alternative to Alex Song and the player was not prepared to sweat it out and wait for the outcome of the Song on/off deal at the end of end of the transfer window.

As long as the club stop dicking around and get the Song deal sorted I’m not too fussed with missing out of this chap. Would have been a nice alternative but for us Song is a very much known quantity.

Totally agree Song is known premiership quality and if this op clears up his injury problem we’d have a sure fire starter for every game. With our present striker crisis the £5 mil we got for downing should be used towards a new striker and not another holding midfielder

Don’t think we had any intention of signing this player just putting pressure on Song to sign a deal,
Just get this done so we can stop talking about Midfielders,
It’s the same with the right back rumours is not going to happen unless it’s loan deal,
But a forward is a must or they will rush AC back and we all know what will happen then
