Hammers losing ground in defender race

|

West Ham may be losing ground in the race to sign Spezia defender Jakub Kiwior.

The Hammers have long been linked with a potential move to sign the centre-back from the Serie A club either in January or this summer.

There is also interest from Juventus, Napoli, and AC Milan, per Tuttosport, and it’s said that Juventus are currently ahead in the race.

They want to agree a deal with Spezia in January and then potentially loan him back to Spezia for the remainder of the season; which is exactly what Spezia are looking for.

The Hammers are also said to have made a bid for Kiwior in the summer but Spezia again told the club that they wanted the player loaned back to them for this season, something the Irons weren’t willing to agree to.

It remains to be seen if their idea has changed, but if it hasn’t, they may struggle to get ahead of Juventus in the race for Kiwior in January.

Surely with the Juventus board resigning and over spent by £220 million if he’s good enough now is the time to buy?
Allows DM to leave him on the bench for the rest of the season and build him up to be a striker before next season starts!
    Just a thought!!
