West Ham have submitted a second bid for the winger often referred to as ‘The Brazilian Mbappe’.

Following an initial £13 million offer for Corinthians wide-man Wesley Gassova that was rejected, the Irons have returned with a revised proposal, according to the Sunday Mirror. This new offer includes various add-ons intended to “sweeten the deal.”

The pursuit of Wesley is being spearheaded by technical director Tim Steidten, who is described by the Mirror as “well connected” in Brazil. Steidten, who has taken over the Hammers’ Brazilian scouting operations from Rob Newman, previously managed Bayer Leverkusen’s South American scouting network, giving him extensive experience in identifying emerging talent.

Wesley’s strong and rapid playing style has drawn comparisons to PSG’s Mbappe. His recent performances, marked by an increase in goals and assists, have caught the attention of other top clubs like Tottenham and Arsenal.

Currently deployed on the left side of Corinthians’ attack, Wesley would be a strategic addition for West Ham, addressing a problematic position for the club.

Brilliant on left? Sounds like a fantastic signing. That’s exactly what we need! Watch him next season sitting on our bench, then getting 7 minutes in defensive midfield, not playing well and never heard of again!
