Hammers name their Jenkinson price

|

jenkinson1West Ham will go to £6 million to sign Carl Jenkinson which is £2 million short of Arsenal’s valuation on the player.

Despite stories circulating that the Gunners want a whopping £12 million for the right backa and that talks have already started, neither is the case.

Jenks is reported keen to stay by Boleyn insiders but there is no question of talks starting over a permanent move to the Hammers until nearer the end of the campaign.

A Hammers source told ClaretandHugh exclusively: “Sam likes him and we want to sign him at the end of the season but the ball is very much in Arsenal’s court.

“However, the idea of paying £12 million or even £8 million – which we understand is near the true Arsenal valuation – for a player who can’t get into their first team and is currently on loan is unrealistic.

“We will sit down with Arsenal at the end of the season should they be ready to talk a move and hopefully we can hammer something out but it will be at around £5m-£6m if it’s going to happen.”

No brainer straight swap for Reid or even a couple of mil extra ,get it done now and replace Reid with another capable centre half even if we have to sell Jarvis to raise the money.

Bubs you read my mind, if we could do teh deal would be good business and no capital gains tax on a swap.

  • But there’s no bid from anywhere. They don’t want him
