Hammers need to put the record straight

|

Let’s not prepare ourselves for an easy ride on Saturday afternoon at the Amex Stadium because the record against Brighton over the last four years is very poor indeed we are without a win in the last seven games.

It’s a game we really do need to win but our record against the south coast side is about as bad as it could be.

The 2-2 draw against Albion in December was the seventh on the trot we have been unable to win. And earlier in the season we shared the points in a 3-3 draw.

Last season it was the same story with the clubs sharing the points in a pair of 1- and 2-2 draws.

And prior to that we lost a couple in 2018 and 2017 so with history and stats against us we really need to turn things around on Saturday to maintain our hopes of qualifying for Europe which now seem focused on the Europa League.

Quite beyond that with three defeats from the last four games we really need to set ourselves up to end the season with a flourish.

Agreed we need to go all out & win , we really need Rice back the team look more balanced with him. I don’t think it is a coincidence our recent results have dipped since he has been out . Don’t get me wrong the team have been good all season but sometimes you need a player back. I am an optimist , the fat lady is not singing yet . We need to win all 3 and hope other results go for us stranger things have happened. I could bang on about the Man Utd game last night , the team etc but no point it’s gone. COYI ⚒

In his first stint, Moyes had saved us from relegation with 3 games to go – we then went out and beat Leicester away, drew at Old Trafford and then beat Everton at home. So I am sure that he will not allow the team to slacken off – whether or not we can still qualify for the CL is another issue – but finishing the season strongly is very important – it is a cliche but there are no easy games in the PL – but hopefully we have the quality to win these three – starting with getting over our new Brighton hoodoo (remember that the last time we played them in the Championship we thrashed them with a Ricardo Vaz Te hat-trick)

All a bit late now…3 loses out of 4 has damaged us bad….got to be happy with the season but with the position we put our self in a few weeks back, I must admit it’s bit disappointing we have fell away at last hurdle…im not sure we will ever get a chance like that again…..would of took top ten after last season though so half glass full bit
