Hammers respond to Watford rumour

|

Watford-vs-SwanseaRe-cyled reports in The Sun that the Hammers are interested in Watford’s Odion Ighalo is “on West Ham’s list for a big-name striker” are entirely wrong.

The Hammers were interested earlier in the season and even made an inquiry which is presumably where this report has been resurrected from.

But ClaretandHugh, when inquiring as to whether he remained a target  was told a week ago t the club had no interest at all.

We were told: “He looked the type of player we wanted when scoring 13 in the first half of the season but he has managed only three since the turn of the year and has fallen out of our thoughts as a result.

It’s well known the Hammers are ready to spend big on a striker this summer but that won’t be on Nigerian Ighalo .

If he goes for less then £20 million plus I will eat my hat,
At £15 million everyone is going to be interested,he is a good player but I prefer Dehenney
Who would fit into our system,he has made 70% of the goals,
Do we need a player who scores 20 plus goals when Payet and Lanzini will chip in with 20 plus
Sakho and Antonio will add another 20
    Valencia,Carroll,Noble,Cresswell,will add another 20
Better to have a team that work as one who play togeather as a unit,
But if he arrives I will be happy to have him in the squad

Would love to see Lacazette and Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi come in. Lacazette is an out and out goalscorer whilst Berardi could give us another magician alongside Payet and Lanzini. Whilst Payet is a joy to watch, the stats for games without him are worrying and so it would be good to have another capable deputy in Berardi. Would be happy to see Tore come in as well as Billic’s compatriot Sime Vrsaljko – who can play left and right back – and then focus on youth.

Been delighted by Burke, Cullen and Samuelson, but I’m torn between bringing them into the first team slowly over the course of the season and letting them have one more year on loan, ideally with a championship side, to get 40+ more games under their belt. Another site reported we have already received loan offers for these three and Lewis Page so they are definitely doing all the right things.

The Portuguese lad, Rafa Silva, also looks a great talent and I’d love him to join Martinez. Leed’s Lewis Cook also looks promising with 70 Championship games experience, but midfield isn’t exactly an area we are short of talent!
