Hammers return to training ground

|

TrainingGround978Slaven Bilic will welcome back Adrian,  James Collins, Angelo Ogbonna, Sam Byram, Arthur Masuaku, Chek Kouyate, Pedro Obiang, Mark Noble, Michail Antonio, Ashley Fletcher, Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho who are all expected to report for training at Rush Green this morning.

Absent will be Jonathan Calleri, Gokhan Tore, Havard Nordveit and Alvaro Arbeloa who have all left the club within the last month. Enner Valencia will also be absent as he completes his medical for a move to Tigres.

Robert Snodgrass (Scotland), Manuel Lanzini (Argentina), Aaron Cresswell (England) Darren Randolph (Ireland), Declan Rice (Ireland), Andre Ayew (Ghana), Sofiane Feghouli (Algeria) were all involved in international duty over the summer so are contractually entitled to the five extra days off  but some of them may still decide to return today for the start of pre-season training. All of them are scheduled to board the flight to Austria next Monday.

Jose Fonte (Portugal) will be given slightly longer off after his involvement with the Confederations Cup so will join the squad in Europe later while Domingos Quina and Edimilson Fernandes are still on International duty.

Winston Reid will return to training next Monday as he continues to recover from his injury.

Who will be the first to pick up ‘a knock in training’? Bets anybody? Sorry, I am just getting myself back into new season grumpy mode. Really I am looking forward to it. The season that we take on the big clubs, slaughter the teams below us,win a cup, never lose a game in the last five minutes, do the double over you know who. Blimey, I need a lie down…..

So AC and Sakho return to training on time with all the other players. How much blog space was wasted on moaning that they wouldn’t? God I wish people would just wait and see before they let their fingers commit their miserable brain process to type. Same goes for transfers.

    • They return to the training ground didn’t say they would be training. They might be working in the gym

      • Stan The Man says:

It makes a change from them working on their tans.

The accusations were that they wouldn’t be returning as they were sold. I’d imagine both of their first days will be largely spent with Lewin and his team and a spell in the gym to check on fitness and stuff. Who cares so long as they’ve returned and the new fitness medical team are getting to work on them. And yeah if that ends up with them being sold next month so be it. Fans try to micro manage everything these days.

Just a little concerned as earlier reports suggested we were only looking at 2-3 players coming in obviously strikers 2 as we got a right back
In theory we have lost 7 players already with likes of Valencia totes nordvelt and a few loans. Also looks like Fellughi may go as well and can see Fletcher going if we do indeed get 2 new strikers ( if Carrol and Sakho fit he would be 5thchouce)
Even allowing for 2-3 youth players to come through I think it makes us a little light for a squad although all fit a great starting 13-15 (if we buy 2 strikers)
    Thoughts ???
Re strikers Giroud Hanadez and the bloke from Leeds my choice
Yes loads of spelling mistakes but hope you get who I mean

  • Stan The Man says:

I wouldn’t worry about spelling mistakes fella.Only the pretentious amongst us point out spelling mistakes.Im not going to commit myself to any thoughts on the squad until the window closes. This early July pant wetting is silly lol

That should be “fellow” Stan. (Hehehe)

  • Garysmith says:

Can someone help me by educating me on the amount of money in our transfer kitty??

    • markro says:

Nobody knows and it’s probably best kept that way.

The more clubs think is in our war chest, the more inflated their demands will become.

    • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Think of how much we got for finishing 11th, add in the profits from the deal of the century the £25m surplus for last season, add in the £8m for Nordveidt, the £6m for Valencia, the wages saved by offloading the expensive loans, then imagine that mouthwatering figure in excess of £100m… it will be nowhere near that 😉

You,re not accusing the trotters of being manipulative with the money are you 32 🙂
If only they could find another watch or a miracle cure all , not panicking yet but the immodium and nappys are close by , I reckon at least £ 50 million and a book of green shield stamps to buy the first set of crutches with for me old china doll from the littlewoods catalogue .
Truth is no one knows not even the twins , all will be revealed soon no doubt after the ongoings have been sorted , not long now 🙂

    • Thought to be up to £70m

  • Garysmith says:

Thanks for that fellas exactly what i thought lol

  • Michael Miller says:

I’ll have £10 on AC being the first ‘casualty’ and ‘groin strain’ as the ‘injury’!
