Hammers reveal the price for Payet

|

payet2West Ham are still looking for a fee in advance of £30 million for disgraced Dimitri Payet.

Despite the declarations by manager Slaven Bilic that he is not for sale the club are privately looking for offers at what they consider is the current value.

And a top insider told ClaretandHugh this evening: “In the market as it is right now we would say that £30 million was too low for a player of his class and ability.”

Allegations  that the player made it clear to the manager he would feign injury should the club try to keep him and that he would never kick another ball for the club have made their way onto the national headlines this evening.

ClaretandHugh was told the same by its own sources but at this stage the Hammers are more interested in getting their price for the player.

And should they not get a bottom line of £30 million it’s unlikely he will be moving before the summer as the club look to play him at his own hardball game.

There’ s a lot of posing going on with the club and Payet’s agent locked in talks as they try to move forward but the Irons are determined that nobody will get their one time star asset on the cheap.

Good luck to whoever signs him.Give him eigthteen months & he will be rodgering their ass.Taking his million quid loyalty bonus then jogging off somewhere else giving it the family reasons bullcrap.
Strangely enough its the same bullcrap Costa came out with earlier in the month.Birds of a feather. They should both be handed a white feather!!!

Yes, he is disgraced; but the tragedy is that he probably does not realise this, nor that it would worry him if he did ! Add to that the fact that he will end up getting what he wants, & it is a thoroughly nasty situation which serves as a salutary lesson as to the greed & disloyalty in the game. An even greater tragedy is that they are all probably doing the same thing to a greater or lesser extent !

I don’t know how you guys can read the comments on that site, on the occasions I get sucked in to reading an article if I drift onto the comments it’s like being in some alternate universe where nothing is real and everything will lead to insanity 😉

If the club think £30m is enough they are idiots, he is the most creative player in Europe, the bear minimum should be £50m and they should be hawking him out to China just tell him he isn’t getting sold to Marseille and they couldn’t give a damn about his family life. If he is nowhere near the first team it is money well spent he has such a long contract that the club holds the power. If the price is right we will sell him, Marseille don’t have any decent players left so we should see if we can trade him to PSG for Angel Di Maria and some cash 😄

It would be great if someone was prepared to shovel out 50 million quid, but..

I’m not sure whether Payet (as much as I admire his talents), is the most creative player in Europe; otherwise he could have won the Balon D’Or; very good, no question, but not the best.

However getting back to the question of what we should be asking; considering he is about to turn 30, a reasonable fee of 35-40 million quid may be more realistic.
If we were to hang out for 50 million, and he ends up hanging around, it could have a negative effect on the morale of a club which has had enough troubles this season.
Lets see how far we can push the likes of Chelsea, Man.Utd, Marseilles etc over the next 2 weeks, and then we’ll see the end of the little traitor.
If Payet has any thread of decency/sincerity, then give back the million quid ‘loyalty bonus’ so it can be donated to a needy charity (sick kids, homelessness etc)In addition, he (Payet) should also be prepared to pay for the cost of treating Bilic’s ‘knife in the back’ wound!!

    • Len says:

Sorry my friend i am no Sir Len of Duffield.I am no Sir anyone.I am Mr Len of Wealdstone.I think you may have crossed wires.
