Hammers rubbish central defensive target report

|

Reports this morning from Football Insider that the Hammers are chasing  £16m rated central defender Nayef Aguerd  have been described by the club this morning as ” total tosh.”

The report claims that West Ham have been linked with Aguerd over the last week or so with the Rennes and Morocco star said to be valued at around £16m (Sport360).

It adds that not only is the 25-year-old a centre-back, but he can also play at left-back – another position Moyes needs to strengthen.

And it claims that  co chairman David Sullivan is on a personal mission as de facto director of football to sign the guy as he carries out negotiating duties ahead of new chief scout Rob Newman joining the club once he completes his gardening leave at Manchester City.

However, a well placed London Stadium insider made it clear there was “nothing in the story at all” and that the player is not on a list of names prepared by the manager.
