West Ham are continuing to pursue their interest in Olympiakos left back Leonardo Koutris.
We have been on the case since before the winter break when reports first circulated that scouts from the club had been regularly checking him out.
It now appears that a new left back will be arriving at the London Stadium and that Koutris is in pole position although there’s apparent interest from Everton.
The 23-year-old has also been watched by European clubs but such is the money available for personal terms in the Premier League the Hammers – along with Everton should the interest be real – are in the driving seat to grab to player.
Newspaper Correio de Manha claim the two Premier League clubs have already shown an interest in the Brazilian-born defender upon whom his club have a £10 million price tag.
The left-back has played for Greece three times, despite being born in Brazil, after being handed his debut in November 2018.
The Hammers have had a real problem on the left side of defence all season with Cresswell often injured and perhaps out of touch whilst Arthur Masuaku is now seen almost exclusively as a left sided midfielder.
Husillos has also been watching central defenders and midfielders during the season with Maxi Gomez very much the main striking option.
Decent player he is but I worry a bit bc we go Masuaku from there & he was horrible at first.
Tho he looks like he can defend more playing for the biggest club in Greek league they can have just attacking Full backs.
I like Christian Gunter a lot at Freiburg 26yo well rounded can defend well & has good cross when gets fwd. Aaron Martin at Mainz on loan from Espanyol is very good too & young CB cover too.
And for RB Enock Kwateng 22 years old from Nantea is the in the one free we should be all over RB & CB cover quick strong great defender.
