Hammers set to take midfielder off wanted list

|

Charlton and Peterborough United are likely to be disappointed in their pursuit of Josh Cullen.

Posh director of football Barry Fry is reported to have believed he had a deal tied up but the youngster’s impressive performance at Shrewsbury after his retern from Bolton looks to have thrown the deal into reverse.

Charlton boss Karl Robinson is also an admirer of the 21 year old and is reportedly keen to take him to the Valley but with David Moyes naming him ” probably our best player” in the FA Cup tie at a time when midfield is a key area for him, his chances too look thin.

And Fry has indicted that it now looks difficult for a deal to be done after the midfielder’s return from a Bolton loan deal.

He said:  “I thought I had the Cullen deal sewn up. West Ham’s owners had been very helpful, but it may not be happening.”

Good always been a fan of Cullen & best for him & us if he stays. Still only 21 & his commitment & work rate are great isn’t scared to get ball fwd & great in & off ball.
I think we would be mad to put him back on loan said all season I’d have him back & play him over Kouyate

Surely this headline should read “Hammers set to take midfielder off not-wanted list” ? Otherwise we might click(bait) on this article expecting to read something about The Irons buying transfer policy, only to read an article about their (who they are not) selling transfer policy? Are they not also selling Antonio… Lanzini… Hernandez… Arnautovic… Adrain… Ogbona… Obiang… Reid… Cresswell… You know where this is going…
