Hammers speak on Abdennour rumour

|

Aymen_AbdennourRumours that Monaco have accepted an 18m euros bid for central defender Aymen Abdennour  have been firmly denied by the Irons this evening (Sat).

The ‘news’ was tweeted by @GuillermoBullon and spread like wildfire across the social network but the Hammers immediately dismissed the tweet.

A source said: “We are looking for a central defender  but there’s no truth in this whatsoever. There has been no offer lodged by us at this point.”

In reality a bid makes little sense as  the 26 year old Tunisian only signed a four year deal with the French outfit  last year after impressing while on loan from Toulouse.

Dont matter when he signed a new contract, money talks.Might not be ours but if someone bids big for him the club will accept for a handsome profit if they think it is good business 😉

Payet had 2 years left on his contract,
How many years have Remy and Austin ?
What a crock again ask Bradley

  • Quickdraw Slaven a party says:

IF we signed this fella it would really be a sign of intent, however I don’t think we’ll go as high as others in the bidding he only signed a year ago and €18M would be about 6 or so profit I can’t see it being enough

Dont forget though that Monaco are in a bit of a pickle financially atm. They are looking to unload players.Guess it depends who comes in for him & what dough is put on the table.Sure he will go elsewhere though if sold 😉

  • All the story says is they haven’t bid at the moment

  • Rads says:

Is that some cryptic message Hugh or just stating a fact 😉

  • Roman says:

I think the owners want to keep this one under wraps in case the spuds or the like come knocking and consequently force up his asking price. Aymen Abdonnour might be the ‘bargain’ the owners are always on the look for.
