Hammers target slips down pecking order

|

Joe Worrall is not the number one candidate to join the Hammers this summer despite his brilliant performances for Nottingham Forest.

The central defender looks certain to move on unless Forest are promoted, of which there is every chance as they surge towards the play off places.

But we understand that whilst no names are available at this stage, David Moyes and his lieutenant Rob Newman are looking more closely at a couple of centre backs in Spain and Italy.

They are determined to find a fast and mobile central defender and feel that with the budget available  they can find the answer to their problems at the centre of defence.

Worrall has been regularly scouted and it was thought that the Hammers indicated an interest in the winter but when not following through the player may have become annoyed at how negotiations were left

Moyes and Newman are keen to find a naturally left footed central defender in the Angelo Ogbonna mould but sadly for Worrall he is a right sided defender.

Interesting to hear that DM is putting a high priority on what Worrall is not – left footed. Last week it was even suggested that we would throw in left footed left. back U23 star Longelo to get Worrall. Let’s see what transpires but left footed players are really key to have – do we have a clue how Worrall could play with Zouma?
