Hammers to miss out on 33 goal striker

|

David Moyes will give up on his hopes of signing Brentford striker Ivan Toney after he scored after 10 minutes helping him to Premier League promotion.

West Ham were reported to have approached the representatives of Toney about a potential move to the London Stadium this summer but Brentford will now reject any approach for their star player.

Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony – who sold Toney to Brentford for £10m – claimed a couple of months ago that West Ham co-owner David Sullivan told him he regrets not signing Toney last summer.  He was offered the forward by his good friend and Posh director of football Barry Fry for as little as £5m.

The 25-year-old has proven that with quality service, he will turn those chances into 33 goals in the Championship this season, as a new record

He hit 24 for Peterborough last season in League One and also scored goals on loan at Shrewsbury, Wigan and Scunthorpe respectively. Newcastle will now feel stupid to have let him go.

    Cant say I’m particularly bothered.

Because a 33 goal striker isn’t better than watching Antonio fall over the ball?

Premier league is a different level … how many players have you seen that have managed to replicate their championship performances in the premier league? … Look at Benrahma snd Bowen … its not easy .. and put some respect on Antonio’s name we all know hes not silky smooth with flicks and tricks but hes effective and every manager that weve had has put him in the team and thats not because he’s constantly tripping over his own feet ..

We’ll also miss out on Kane and Haaland AND I heard that Arnautovic turned up in a gold Rolls Royce for the Austrian training camp. 20-30 mill looks steep for Sima but affordable. A short term punt could be Giroud- look what Cavani has done for Man U. But will Chelsea sell now?

Apart from scoring a penalty and looping a volley onto the bar, I was underwhelmed with Toneys game Vs Swansea.
    33 goals but 10 were penalties….
IF the asking price was going to be £30mil +… I think I’d be looking elsewhere.

Straight choice between Toney or Abraham…..?

Why a straight choice between those two? There are many players available at the moment. Sima, Hlozec, Daka, Armstrong etc.
