Hammers update Haller report

|

Italian journalist Nicolo Chira – who broke news that West Ham are closing a deal for Sebastien Haller – has seen the story knocked back by the club.

The Gazetta Dello Sport reporter broke the news earlier in the week and in a new update, also sent  to Claret and Hugh, declares the deal has been done and that the player’s agents are on their way to London tonight.

But within minutes of him doing so our inquiry to a top source at West Ham revealed that to not be the case.

The striker is certainly among a list of front men being pursued by the Hammers but our source declared: ” Sadly, this latest report is not true.”

Chira’s original tweets were heavily criticised by leading German newspaper Bild who claimed the Eintracht Frankfurt striker was relatively happy where he was but could possibly be tempted by a Champions League outfit.

Our source added: “As I explained, he is a player on our list but we are certainly not that far down the road at this point.”

Any Hammers fan worth their salt knows it is best to wait till everything is signed and sealed and delivered as there are so many claims and counter claims regarding dozens of players. its best not to believe anything you hear on the journalistic grapevine. Will wait for a club statement.Lacazette,Batshuayi,Carvalho,Bacca,Gomez and the list goes on with players we had all but signed in the past.

Hugh, do you know anything about Haller ? I have watched him on youtube and to be honest I dont see him in the 35m bracket. He has no pace, does not take on players. He is certainly no replacement for Arnie. I am not sure we are making the correct choice here. I would mush prefer to spend big on an Arnie replacement, someone who can bully defenders and has exceptional pace and technique. Haller is certainly not this.
