Hammers update Raphinha report

|

West Ham have a definite  interest in Leeds’ Brazilian star Raphina.

We reported yesterday (Fri) that they had been linked with the player per a 90min report.

And we have been told since that the player has been the subject of an inquiry by the Hammers but that Leeds have no intention of selling.

A key source inside the London Stadium declared “They won’t sell him  He was among five or six players for whom we tried very hard.”

It seems that Raphinha is indeed the £50 million player who has been regularly mentioned over the last couple of days.

He is priced at £36m by Transfermarkt.com but  the site’s prices are normally on the low side. We have reported in the past that a £50 million bid has been made for a player whom we were told “doesn’t necessarily play in a position we require.”

Raphinha he plays in the same role as Jarrod Bowen thus making it an intriguing move but our source confirmed that there is less than a five per cent chance of the deal being done should he be the player concerned as certainly appears to be the case.

Leeds would have to be suicidal to sell Raphina mid-season. Its the equivalent of us selling Declan in January!

    • BoleynIrons says:

Well it’s sounding like we get ño one in again.
Back to using Masuaku,Frederick’s and Yarmolenko.
Moves made these mistakes last time he was here and last year

£50m seems about right in today’s market, he is possibly worth another 9 points a season for us, with the extra goals he would provide. If we signed him that would send a signal that we are adding quality and pushing to finish higher in the league. He is to Leeds what Rice is for us, the best player in the team and highly consistent. The thing for Leeds is they don’t have the same depth of quality we have, without him they may be in a relegation battle.

  • BoleynIrons says:

Come on Hugh you seriously believe any of this.
It’s another make up story from Sullivan.
Why would Leeds sell him now ?
    £50m for another attacking midfielder/winger.
Other teams would benefit for him too.
End of window load of rubbish by the usual.
Thought you were better than that.

    • Wasn’t Sullivan who told me and he He is no longer chief shareholder anyway. Inconvenient as it may be Moyes and Newman really are in charge anyway Not really a case of being better or worse than you expect Boleyn – reporters report what they are told end of. It’s for others to make up their minds. Not me mate:-)

But it seems a ludicrous option.
Plus only a 5% chance of success.
      Echoes Sullivan again.
No matter what you say, Sullivan and the board would be coughing up the money not Moyes and Newman .
Now we here golden child Phillips is on his way.
Are we bidding for Salah and Mane too

    Bowen’s replacement?

  • Clive says:

50 million bid for Calvin Phillips?

  • hammerpete6 says:

Good player, why would they sell him?

  • Hammerforlife says:

Guaranteed there’s a “we tried, we really tried” statement coming once the window closes. Same old same old.
