Hammers worst off by VAR introduction

|

West Ham would be three places better off if it were not for VAR technology in the Premier League.

A Premier League table created by GivemeSport claims the Hammers would be six points better off in 13th place in the Premier League table.

The table shows the Hammers have been the worst affected in points terms by VAR while Everton was worst off in places terms.

Brighton has done the best of VAR technology and would have been in last place seven points worst off if VAR technology didn’t exist.

VAR technology have made no difference to the top four places of the Premier League.

Spurs are another gainer of VAR technology as they would drop down to tenth place by others leapfrogging above them.

VAR was introduced for the 2019/2020 Premier League season promising it would only be used for “clear and obvious errors” or “serious missed incidents” in four match-changing situations consisting of goals. penalty decisions, direct red cards and mistaken identity.

Ironic really, considering our chairman (Gold) is VAR’s greatest advocate.

Every other season we would have gained massively but the same muppets that have been reffing games are administering VAR just let any man from the street do it. They can’t be any worse than fapl refs.

No surprise at all. Sometimes it feels like we have an unnecessary gripe over these so-called “swings and Roundabouts” which VAR was meant to get rid of Permanently………. When in fact, it’s been quite the opposite. Now we have FACELESS idiots making footballing decisions with added Bias.
VAR as well as being useless has sucked a little of that X-Factor and excitement out of the game IMHO.

Why does it have to be decided off site? There is a fourth official at every game and a pitch side monitor for playbacks. This should be all that’s needed. A quick second look.If he cannot see immediately, on camera and in slow motion, then it is not CLEAR and OBVIOUS. Therefore the on field decision should stand. The fact it can take up to 3 or 4 minutes and go to pixels on a computer is ridiculous and definitely not clear and obvious. If it cannot be seen by the human eye then it is not clear and obvious. All that’s happening is a transferal of culpability to an off site, anonymous official who subjects the decision to his own opinion and , no doubt unconscious, bias. I have seen many VAR stills that, in my opinion weren’t offside but were given. It depends on who’s viewing it.Lots of changes needed at seasons’ end, me thinks.
