Honest Cressie nails the late goals problem

|

Aaron Cresswell was deeply disappointed that a free kick which won’t be bettered this season wasn’t enough to see the team win a badly needed second game in three excursions.

But there is absolutely no bewilderment in his mind as to why the Irons keep getting caught at the death with last gasp levellers.

Indeed it’s not rocket science really is it because in the end it ll comes down to total concentration and it was refreshing to hear the 25 year old spit it out.

His honest approach – we are sure will be appreciated by all fans and even though perhaps it was rather a case of stating the obvious it was no less welcome for that.

Speaking to www.whufc.com he said: “It’s us not staying switched on to the very end. It’s Man United, Tottenham and now today so it’s very disappointing not to get the three points, because if we had held on in those, we’d be quite high up.”

He added: ” We just needed that second goal either at the end of the first half or halfway through the second.

“It didn’t come, so you just have to be professional and hold on to the 1-0 and play rough and dirty if that’s the case to get that 1-0.”

Not many will want to hear that but thanks for the honesty Cressie

Yes, fair enough but we didn’t deserve the point on the play, we had a series of breakaways but no sustained pressure.

Stoke battered us, they dominated possession, had two goals ruled out for offside, hit the post and had the ball run along the line etc etc – Noble had an awful game, his lack of pace was continually shown up with him having to turn back time after time and have to play the ball backwards. Bringing on Carlton Cole and then Noble highlighted our lack of resources and lack of strength in the Squad.

A poor afternoon but a predictable result.

The problem is the tactics,we played well for 20 mins then went into defend at all cost.
The best form of defence is attack and leave them to break always,
Sorry but our out of date manager knows no other way,
1 why did he bring on Nolan ?
2 why go to one forward with what has happened in the past ?
3 why is it total long ball from keeper to forward ?
4 if you take off Valencia why not replace him with Nene ?
5 if you take off Song why not bring on Nolan ? ( totally different kind of player )
BFS has run out of ideas and sending players out to try and explain why he got it wrong is out of order,
BFS RETIRE NOW YOU DO THE GAME OF FOOTBALL NO CREDIT.

Better explanation by Cressie, one of the players, than the genius who was ‘bewildered’,im also bewildered, bewildered that people are still even suggesting that Allardyce should be offered a new contract!!

  • mattefumi el loco says:

Bubs, your answers are right and legitimate, but unfortunately useless; remember who is Allardyce; he is a limited person and a limited manager. Actions speak louder than words. Mourinho is also a great speaker, but he can (he’s a winning manager) and above all he is intelligent (yes, think so) and there’s a purpose in his words: he wants to protect his team and focus the media attention on him releasing the pressure from his squad. Allardyce is a great speaker, but he just wants to cover his a*s, his team is secondary. But don’t worry, history will speak on his behalf: when he’ll end his sophisticated career, one month later the world won’t even remember his face… and when he’ll be alone sitting on his armachair he’ll ask Kevin “Ehi Kev, did you remember to clean my trophies in the cabinet?” “ehm sorry Sam, what are you talking about?”… and they lived happily even after.

He lets Kev in the house as well Mrs A must be at the shops,
Mattee don’t mention BFS in the same breath as Morinio they only have head size in common nothing else,
I just hate seeing a player who yesterday won our player of the year coming out to explain why we keep trying to defend for half the game just to get BFS another point and try and save his neck,
