How the Irons rated against WBA

CresswesthAdrian: Another fine performance. This man is a rock. No praise high enough 7

Jenkinson: Galloped forward at every opportunity and defended well. Can we sign him permanently please! 7

Reid: Not at all certain – this is a man with things on his mind – make it up mate 5

Collins: Never under real pressure but very solid 6

Cresswell: Splendid performance – the stand-out display – shame about woodwork for free kick 8

Song: Always a presence and some fine passing out of defence 7

Downing: Always busy but nlt the penetrative force he’s been most of season 6

Kouyate: Bags of energy and edge. Coming back to his best in time for …Senegal!

Amalfitano: Unless he was injured no reason to be subbed; hard running and inventive 7

Sakho: Fabulous goal, some great running. Injured late but produced some top stuff 7

Carroll: Largely anonymous – perhaps he’s now due a rest 5

Subs: Jarvis (60) ££9 million signing – offered nothing 4 Valenica (72): Lttle cameo perfomance – needs a run of games 5 Cole (84): Zero impact

  1. sakho: Yes he scored a nice goal, but he seemed to lack a bit of concentration. Out of six offsides today, Sakho made five of them.. Very confusing. If on the right side of them, I’m sure he would’ve bagged another. 6 for me.

Jarvis: Come on.. a 4?? High work rate, created a couple of chances, but missed a few crosses. 6

We produced some nice football the first 20 minutes, then we lost control of the match. It seemed like we had no problem going forward, but missed an awful lot of chances because of poor delivery with the final crosses into the box.
