This weekend I am off to Prague for a fellow West Ham season ticket holder’s stag week so will miss the West Ham v Chelsea derby, after the recent news that up to 12,500 season ticket holders are missing from each West Ham game played at the London Stadium I decided to re-list my West stand ticket in section 113 early on Ticket exchange.
As soon as the option became available last Thursday I listed my seat for Sunday’s game. The club re-listed my seat for £67 including booking and the automated email told me I would receive £37.72 in return if it sold.
The club encouraged season ticket holders to list early saying that most tickets re-listed early sell however six days later my ticket is still for sale with no takers. I am not alone and there are hundreds of tickets available in almost every section of the London Stadium for this game.
Is it the price being charged by the club? Is it because the game is LIVE on TV? or has the novelty value of the London Stadium worn off for many casual supporters?
If we can’t sell out tickets on tickets for West Ham v Chelsea on the weekend on ticket exchange, what hope is there for Huddersfield on a midweek night?
My ticket in section 113 row 19 is still available for anyone who wants it 😉 https://www.eticketing.co.uk/whufc/
I believe it is the price being charged by the Club as a £30 mark up on your tkt is excessive as I assume it is on all tkts on the scheme, it needs addressing and soon or people will sell their tkts to anyone who will pay the price they want meaning any fan can sit anywhere in the stadium with all its implications of away fans sitting with home fans, not supposed to happen is it, so West Ham sort it and NOW
Market forces say that that the club are charging too much AND giving the ST holder too little..Until they get this right tickets will be loaned out among informal fan networks where it would be normal to charge the pro rata amount of a ticket, eg around £30 a game.
When I didn’t have my season ticket, I didn’t buy a single premium team match ticket (other than cup games) because it was more affordable personally to go to matches where I could get a ticket for £30 – £40 I am sure in these days there must be quite a few with the same mindset ?
I’ve just tried following the link to eticketing from your article and through the club site and can’t get on…… don’t know how long it’s been down, but maybe that’s why there’s so many tickets still available.
Look at it this way old iron and carrer
category A game tickets cost £65 if you buy a one off (i think it is too much myself but market forces dictate the price) so to sell a season ticket holders for less you p-off those that have paid £65 for regular tickets
When you list your ticket for resale you get back what it cost less 10% if you got back more than the ticket cost people would use it for profit with season tickets never going back in the pot
I went on the site today and there are not that many available very few in the lower tiers and almost none in the posh seats but come sunday 1/4 will be empty
Wont sell out as some tickets are 360 quid lol
