Injured defender may be ready for Anfield

|

Ryan Fredericks has suffered a low grade groin strain and is definitely ruled out of a Hammers return for the match at Southampton on Wednesday evening.

It’s unlikely the right back would have forced his way past Ben Johnson anyway following the youngster’s performance against Wolves but he will not be available anyway.

The player is likely to be ok to join the squad for the trip to Anfield at the weekend but once again he is extremely unlikely to play given his form levels since making a brief return from injury. It would take an injury to Johnson for that to happen.

Fredericks looks a very likely departure from the club in the summer with insiders telling CandH he is unlikely to be offered a new deal.

He has been very inconsistent since his arrival from Fulham on a free transfer in 2018 and will be allowed to move on once the summer window opens.
