Irons look to avoid second ‘double’ defeat of season

|

Perez probably earned a call-up for the Wolves clash.

So far we have been spared the players’ sob stories on the official site – long may it continue or at least until after a win or draw on Tuesday night….and that friends is absolutely no easy task!

Cast your minds back to the FA Cup clash at Molineux when they beat Liverpool before grabbing a late draw in the fourth round clash against Shrewsbury yesterday and you see a team that has plenty of skill and guts.

And this is a newly promoted outfit currently sitting in eighth place and playing a brand of football which truly catches the eye.

If we are going to avoid having a second ‘double’ achieved on this season after the Bournemouth defeat we are gonna have to be a 500 per cent improved on what we saw yesterday evening.

We can only assume at this stage that Arnautovic will return as we simply cannot allow Andy Carroll to be embarrassed by his own limitations and lack of service any longer.

It doesn’t work Mr Pellegrini and come to that neither does Chicharito who looks more and more like a spent force with every successive game.

Lucas Perez may be the correct option given the ease with which he took his goal at Wimbledon whilst catching the eye at times apart from that.

There’s a decision to be made at right back where I personally felt Fredericks looked quite exciting at times but Wolves have very effective wingers and Zaba may be the best option on that side with Cresswell of course back on the other side.

Felipe Anderson and Declan Rice’s returns are givens with Fab back in goal and after Obiang’s shocker at Wimbledon we can only pray that another midfielder is one of the two arrivals the Hammers are hoping to bring in before deadline day.

Wolves will be on a high having survived a huge FA Cup scare whist the Hammers have a massiveĀ  bounce back to do if a wave of new protests and anxiety isn’t disfigure the second half of the season.

However, media department please don’t give us the usual player pledges and promises!

CandH’s starting X1: Fabianski; Zaba, Diop, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Rice, Snodgrass, Antonio, Anderson, Perez, Arnautovic

Looks about right that side hugh for wolves hard game but you should know by now we beat the ones were supposed to get beaten by and lose to the easy sides. Mental problem for me nobles answer is correct and their not machines but must always first match the desire before the pretty stuff comes along. I think arnie will prove his needed until Gomez next season and a shame we dont have a good left back or central defender to go along with diop as rocky recovers from injury. Cresswell better than masu who was along with obiang disastrous and that’s not saying alot we need a proper young defender and another centre back for cover . Frederick’s looked good though for me and zab can get a breather on some of the rest of season knowing his learning all the time. COYI

Perez like Hernandez has seemed to me to be pretty much a passenger in most games he has played. There is no doubt though that he is a clinical finisher if given a sniff in and around the box. It could be he was underestimated by Arsenal and by us. At this moment in time and following his goal against Wimbledon he probably deserves a start more than any of the other strikers. Whether Arnoutavic deserves to be straight back in if your Pelle is another story. Not sure what kind of message it sends out to the rest of the squad.

Pellegrini should have read them the riot act, other than Anderson, Diop And Ogbonna the rest should be on the bench with Antonio on the right wing. Without Balbuena we look vulnerable, Reid should surely be back soon ? Maybe even a game to experiment with 5 at the back, Anderson, Nasri, Rice and Antonio in the middle and Arnie up top.
