Irons move in on Danish striker

|

toulouse-martin-braithwaiteWest Ham are understood to be in for Toulouse striker Martin Braithwaite whose 12 goals played a major part in keeping the French club up this season.

And the goals came despite him figuring mainly in a wide role.

Braithwaite has a year left on his contract and the Irons have been scouting him throughout last season after he was told he’d be allowed to leave if the club stayed up.

He is represented by agent Mark McKay with whom the Hammers have a close relationship and the agent commented:  ‘Martin has fulfilled his part of the promise he made to Toulouse and now wants to take his career to the next level in the Premier League. It is an exciting opportunity for him.

This is not the major signing the Hammers are looking to ae this summer but it is in in line with their vlue for money policy which could see him come to the club for as little as £4milion – which is beleived to be their latest offer.

De facto Director of Football David Sullivan insists the ” pack will be shaken up this summer” and should Enner Valencia leave as a result for around £10 million the club will see that as great business.

You never know- Martin Braithwaite could turn out to be another super-signing (cf Mcihail Antonio ), and for 4 million quid, we don’t have much to lose.

I’d like to see how well Enner Valencia plays for Ecuador in the up-coming Coa America 2016. I think there is still a lot of talent in him, but whether the EPL is the best platform for him? Love to see Sakho and Valencia re-kindle their potent striking partnership, if possible!

Now we hit our true price range,
Bony is now down to £16 million if Swansea go for him,

  • GW says:

I’m guessing YouTube could be crashing later today with all our paid talent scouts over at the site of choice watching 5 minute clips and feeding back that he is a total minger? Bubs I agree with you Bony was a no brainer 3 years ago when the slug wanted AC instead and he’s a no brainer now.

  • Antman says:

I think a player like Bony still has a lot to offer. It is ludicrous to write him off because of his spell at City, many other players have suffered the same fate going to a ‘bigger’ club, but generally bounce back when moved on somewhere else.Maybe Benteke will be the same.
I have never heard of this lad so it’s pointless for me to try to talk about him lol

  • EastStandTeddy says:

Nothing wrong with taking a little punt on someone,it worked with Sakho.Ok it isnt going to work out everything but for 4m why not,you just never know do you.

I know zip about this guy, I’ve heard of him but thats all. But as i’m not a top level agent or scout then i dont expect to. A 5 min youtube clip is like closing you eyes & taking a name out of a bag. Give me an hour I could make Benni McDonalds look good on youtube.
I also think Bony would be a good buy, players at his level are finally turning down the moves to the super rich. How many of these disappear at top clubs & then spat out after a few years.

  • StanThe Man says:

Forget him guys, some fella on Wetlands says he has watched some videos of him & he couldn’t hit a barn door.I really find it hysterical that people can base such assumptions on a few YouTube clips.Oh well each to their own.I am obviously doing something wrong,i can’t pick a player after a few visits to YT.Am I doing something wrong lmao

    • essexclarets says:

Didn’t sourpuss sign Boogers after watching a video?? Before the magical youtube

      • StanThe Man says:

I believe he may well have done.I certainly remember he signed some player on the strength of a video.Just goes to show that you can take nothing from video clips either way I guess lol

  • EastStandTeddy says:

YouTube has turned millions of fans into talent scouts & heads of recruitment 🙂

  • flicker.of.the.bean says:

Still think we should try to sign jaanmat from Newcastle. I Think he is a really good rub which we desperately in need of.

    • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Completely agree Flicker aswell as Wijnaldum and if available Townsend, he certainly won’t stay in the England team if he is playing in the championship.

  • EastStandTeddy says:

I’m in desperate need of a rub,no chance from the missus though.Seriously,i like him as well, aint so sure he will improve us defensively though in that position.

  • ChrisTheHammer says:

I hope we don’t sign him instead of tore

  • johnboy says:

Rumour has it tore has signed for 13 million smackers ? Sakho IMO has got to stay ! His work rate is double that of bony and benteke , but hey , wtf do I know !

  • RickHammer says:

Yeah sat that on KUMB in their pants 😉
