The fact that agent Mark McKay is being quoted on a Hammers move for Toulouse striker Martin Braithwaite means the story reported here earlier can be trusted.
His name marks the spot when Hammers transfers are under the microscope.
McKay was the guy involved in the move which brough Dimi Payet to West Ham and at the time he was famously quoted as claiming that had his company not been involved it could have cost the Irons around £25 million instead of the £10 plus ultimately paid.
The young man is the son of controversial Willie McKay who was involved in much, often adverse publicity, in the 80s and 90s.
However, young Mark has become one of David Sullivan’s most trusted agents – hardly surprising given the Payet coup.
