Irons still on the prowl

West Ham are not ruling out more arrivals at the club before the transfer window closes.

However, they have now filled all key positions and any new signings are likely to depend on departures.

Diafra Sakho’s arrival from Metz looks to be the end of a busy summer for club co-chairman David Sullivan and manager Sam Allardyce.

Sullivan told Claretandhugh: “I’m pleased with the business we’ve done. It’s not been easy.”

Sakho is seen as something of a gamble at  £2.5 m but he is a physical presence in the box and a player the club think can do well.

A source told us: “We are happy with the business we have done. There’s nothing urgent now but there could be some arrivals and departures. We’ll see what’s out there.”
