Lyon’s France international Alexandre Lacazette (above) would be ready to join West Ham if they manage to clinch place in the Premier League top four.
Arsenal are also keen to bring the striker to England in the summer and Liverpool are also interested but have the same top four problem as the Irons.
ClaretandHugh has learned that the Irons negotiators are believed to have discovered that Lacazette is determined to land a Champions League club this summer if he’s to make the move from Lyon.
He and the club are aware of interest from the trio of Premier League clubs but a move to the Emirates carries the risk of non selection for the first team given the squad strength and depth.
West Ham have made their interest known along with Liverpool and a source close to the player said: “All the options are up in the air at the moment.
“However, we can that West Ham hold an interest and that their end of season is being closely watched. Champions League football would aid the cause dramatically as he sees that as an important condition.”
I’m not keen on players laying down conditions like that either they want to play for us or they dont 🙁
Agree with Mark on this , too many players these days want to jump straight in to C.L without making the contribution to get there in the first place ! Diami being a case in point ! We want hungry players like Antonio and Lanzini who are prepared to work for it . Talent is not the be all and end all if it doesn’t come with the will to fight for the team .

We don’t want big heads who think they are doing us a favour to play for us we want guys who can’t wait to pull on our shirt and contribute to getting to the CL and earn that respect by playing well. That’s the kind of team we have now and don’t want it ruined by anyone who thinks they are SPECIAL!!!!!
Tbh I don’t blame him.If he knows there is going to be interest from CL teams then why wouldn’t he prefer a move to one of them.Players want to play in the biggest competitions,can’t blame them for that.Lukaku has said he wants CL football as well,would none of you sign him because he said it??

Have no problem with a player who is already playing in the CL saying he wants to stay in the CL. It says to me he is ambitious and wants to be part of the elite in football. I’d be more worried if he would readily give up CL football to join us as you couldn’t say it was for purely footballing reasons (something tells me growing up in France he doesn’t live and breathe claret and blue like us), and let’s be honest it would be for the money – perhaps not a million miles from the young players who are going over to China at the minute.
That being said, I hope the Chairmen, Lady Brady and Mr Billic can persuade him. Hopefully they’ll make him feel like our main target and reassure him that if he delivers he’ll be as adored as Dimi. He looks a great talent. Hopefully he can see the potential at the club, the stadium, the fact we’ve held our own and then some against all the “top” teams, and, if the CL is a step too far this year, he feels a year in the Europa League with a team that has the potential to win it is enough. If he really is closely watching the final few games, a strong end to the season and a finish above Man Utd might just clinch it. COYI!!!
