It’s ‘Mission Impossible’ getting into Frankfurt home end!

|

ClaretandHugh Facebook member Lee Pearce has been following the Eintracht Frankfurt ‘outrage’ at the West Ham ticket selling operation for the first leg game at the  London Stadium and notably the inflammatory comments of president Peter Fischer.

Here he tells of his experiences when trying to buy a ticket into the Frankfurt home end for the second leg and there appears to be more than a bit of hypocrisy going on at the German club.

Mmmm, when I was trying to source a ticket for the home end in Frankfurt, part of my plan was to get a booking history.
So I purchased a cheap ticket for the game last weekend and when I went use my UK card,  the message I received was  “your country is not permitted to buy tickets!!”
I had to use my US bank card and address!!
Then the rules for allocation of home tickets left after season tickets were released and they were only available to those who were paid up members before the 16th of March and had a booking history!!
Plus it wasn’t first come  first served but you went into a ballot, thus enabling further checks to be made to stop West Ham fans getting in.
I would say Frankfurt were being more stringent so as to stop Away fans getting in!!
I think Frankfurt are quite proud of what they managed at the Nou Camp, but that could have been done by many teams fans due to the size of the stadium and the indifference shown by Barca fans to  the Europa League.
There will be the odd Frankfurt fan in the home end tomorrow, all away teams will have the odd amount achieving this, but it will no way be on the scale of Barcelona!!
